The City has contracted with landscape architectural firm, Design Workshop for the plan for these paths. Design Workshop has expertise in conducting feasibility studies and master plans for trails, recreational areas and waterfront facilities. They are experienced in improving and designing shoreline and waterfront recreation facilities. More information can be found at www.designworkshop.com
The Design Workshop team is conducting the feasibility study for these East End paths now and expects to provide the City with a completed report by end of May. The report will include recreational options for each of the six East End walkways and associated cost estimates.
Once the feasibility report is done, ARPD will provide the findings to the public at community input meetings. ARPD plans to hold these meetings over the summer and will then compile the information from the public to bring a draft recommendation to the Recreation and Parks Commission in the fall.
